The president of the mainland-based Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits, Chen Yunlin, has stressed the importance of speeding up ECFA’s follow-up negotiations.
Chen Yunlin, president of Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits, said, "We aim to deepen the cross-Strait relations, and establish a mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation mechanism. The eighth round of talks is a major step to put ECFA negotiations into action. Our first priority is to complete the ECFA’s follow-up pacts as soon as possible, which also meets the aspirations of people from both sides. Now as we see more uncertainties and challenges in the global economy, we shall take these talks as an opportunity to further deepen the economic cooperation between the two sides, to avoid risks and realize common prosperity."
